In 2005, Rosa founded the Rosa Jiminez Spanish Dance Theatre. 

In May 2012, she  was awarded the President’s Award by Dame Marina Keet in London for her contribution to the Spanish Dance Society.

Rosa has most recently performed at the Lyric Theatre at Gold Reef City in the ‘Young Ballet Stars of the World” Gala event alongside her dancing partner, Maria Lorca Montoya..

Montoya Spanish Dance Theatre is an South African based dance studio aimed at promoting the art of Spanish dance to young and old alike. Montoya Dance group have also been featured at numerous events and shows Spanish Dance Society exam classes (Ingresso to Advanced, IdB and PdB), open work (delving into the art and technique of flamenco).

What does the word ‘Farruca’ mean?

The word "farruca" is of Galician origin and means literally "cante de gallegos"

(Inhabitants of Galicia in north-western Spain bordered by the Atlantic ocean and Portugal).
