Founded in 2008 by Kuik Swee Boon, The Human Expression Dance Company (T.H.E) has progressed quickly to become one of the most seminal Singaporean as well as South East Asian contemporary dance companies in recent years.

Our works attempt to expose different dimensions of the human condition; to highlight the minute, intricate but nevertheless important details that often go unnoticed in a contemporary age that moves with blinding speed. 

T.H.E has performed at most major local arts and dance festivals including the Singapore Arts Festival and Esplanade da:ns Festival. 

▶Performance 

T.H.E resident choreographer Kim Jae Duk creates his third scintillating work for the company, titled Hey Man!. With his signature dark humour, Kim takes a dig at the silliness of modern man’s behaviour, questioning the need for excessive rules and structures in society.

Modern society introduces structures in the hopes of trying to make things easier to understand. Yet even as we communicate, things seem to get lost in meaning. We cannot learn or even start to understand everything just by obeying these structures. In the end what matters most is that we feel a sincerity of expression when communicating with one another.
